Payment Policies and Guidelines:   1. Payment is due at the end of each session, unless a different arrangement is agreed to prior to the session by the Firefly Recording staff.   2. Payment for the session begins when the session was booked to start, not when you arrive, unless the engineer is late. Engineers are at the studio 15 minutes before starting time for set up. At the end of the session, the engineer spends time putting away equipment without cost to you.   3. You're responsible for 75% of the time you booked. For example, if you book a ten-hour session, you need to work at least 7 1/2 hours or pay us the difference.   4. A 1/3 deposit is required to hold studio time. This is based on the estimated total hours of session time involved (unless otherwise agreed to by the Firefly staff). You can cancel without penalty up to 10 days before the session; less than 10 days and you'll lose 1/2 your deposit; less than 4 days and you'll lose the whole deposit.   5. Master recordings are released only when full payment has been received.   6. Currently we are offering 10% free time beyond your first 10 hours booked!  If you book 8 hours, you pay the regular fee.  If you book 10 hours, you get one hour free; if you book 100 hours, you get 10 hours free! Woohoo!   7. Our rates are very competitive, and we are willing to work within your budget for larger projects.  We accept payment via credit card, cash, and Paypal. Personal checks require prior approval and good standing with the Firefly Staff.  Personal checks must clear before masters will be released.   8. Minimum initial session booking time is 4 hours.  Special allowances will be made for overdub sessions, but this also must be pre-approved with the Firefly Staff.     House Rules:   1. Firefly Recording Studios is a drug-free recording facility, no exceptions! Also, no smoking (of any kind) within the building, as it's harmful to the gear as well.   2. You can bring your own food, but it needs to stay out of ALL studios. You're welcome to use our refrigerator, kitchen space and lounge area.  (see our amenities under the facilities section.)   3. Guests are welcome, but we encourage you to invite only those people who might really be useful to your project or your personal sanity. Too many people in the studio is distracting to everybody. We reserve the right to ask guests to leave.     Backing Up Your Session     1. All Firefly Recording projects are in digital format and are therefore stored on hard disks. Initial recordings are done to Firefly hard drives and backed up to a secondary hard drive at the end of each session. IN ADDITION, all clients need to provide an additional hard drive in order to back up and take your projects with you. If you don't have a hard drive, we are happy to provide one for you (see prices below).   2. We can (and STRONGLY suggest you let us) provide an external Firewire hard-drive, which will be purchased new for your session only and given to you at the end of the session with your master data/files on it. Why should you let us buy it? Because we know exactly which hard drives perform best and with the most reliability for audio recording!
